Winter White and Blue Giveaway
It is giveaway time!! WooHoo!!! And today is perfect to get me in the mood because the sky is that gorgeous sunny December blue and there is snow on the ground, my favorite scene for this time of the year. Yesterday when our 4 year old grandson got up and saw snow, he was sure it was Christmas time. Hard for me to choose a 'favorite" Christmas anything as I love them all! But most of all I love the eyes of the little ones when they see snow for the first time or see a Christmas tree light up for the first time.But first and foremost I love what the "reason for the season is". Favorite song- Silent Night
It was the first song taught to me as a child...no matter what song I was asked to sing, it owuld be the tune to Silent Night with the words of the song requested. To this day, I can still sing any songs' words to the tune of Silent Night...wonder how many parts of the brain THAT uses!
Silent Night for me and The Chipmunks Christmas Song for the Granddaughters.
I think my favorite is "I heard the Bells". I also love Carol of the Bells, the Hallelujah Chorus and O Holy Night :-)
I love Silent Night, What Child is This, O Holy Night, and Ave Maria....and about 30 or 40 others!!!
My favorite Christmas song is a combination of the old and the new. I love the rendition of "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Peace on Earth" as sung by Bing Crosby and David Bowie. Such wonderful voices singing the praise of the new born King. It is so enjoyable to listen to!

Those are beautiful! My fave movie is It's a Wonderful Life. Favorite song is a little harder...I love Let it Snow (ha ha, it's the Alaskan in me!) and O Holy Night.

I will watch It's a Wonderful Life over and over. It's harder to choose a song. Away In A Manger, Joy to the World, anything that references Baby Jesus. I am still overwhelmed by the idea of a baby being God.

I am currently rehearsing "O Holy Night" to sing for a Christmas party, an all time favorite. But my first Christmas solo when I was about 10 years old was "There's a Star in the Sky" and if I could find the music for it, that's what I would sing. It's a wonderful one too.
Movies ... "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus" (there was an older version I have worn out on VHS with Richard Thomas as Virginia's father) and "It's a Wonderful Life."
