I especially enjoy fall flowers and the colored leaves (although we may not have many of those this year with the drought we've had, which makes me sad). I enjoy such variation in color, from pale yellows to oranges to reds, browns, and even some funky greens. It's just a time of year that makes me smile. What a perfect way to celebrate than to share what you do so well.
What do I love about Fall - mainly I think are the memories. When I was young my grandfather would take my sister and I to an apple farm with homemade apple cider and hot donuts - I continue this tradition with my kids, donuts, hot cider and all. We would love to rake the leaves (do children today even know what a rake is?) we would rake them into a big pile, then jump into them. Driving upstate NY just to view the changing colors of the trees, which I still do with my kids. The smells of fireplaces lighting, the excitement of Halloween. So many memories to recall with a smile, that I was able to continue the traditions with my children, and now little Zachary (my grandson).Pamela Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12630008161555789983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6016477304505865446.post-85129618209227317362012-09-15T12:12:03.214-05:002012-09-15T12:12:03.214-05:00The cooler air that sneaks in, while Summer holds ...The cooler air that sneaks in, while Summer holds on with fraying fingers of leaves. The evening comes earlier now, gone are the fireflies and locust hums, but here now is a more peaceful, somehow relaxed glow which covers my horizon. One goodbye is another hello. My favorite thing about Autumn? There are simply too many to name.

tracksaloquin@yahoo.comAloquinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04779364705080703961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6016477304505865446.post-71896587629513714562012-09-15T11:42:08.069-05:002012-09-15T11:42:08.069-05:00I love the profusion of COLOR! I love the cooler temperatures, the crispness to the air and the crinkliness of fallen leaves, the changing colors of the season, and the scents of harvest, dominated by pumpkin and spice. It is a time of the year when people begin wearing beautiful sweaters as they take long walks, unfettered by the oppressive, moist heat typical of a Midwestern summer. An autumn rain purges the air, making it smell sweet and clean. That's probably more than you wanted to know, but there's not much I don't love about autumn! :-)Judy Nolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07405861781735927423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6016477304505865446.post-4320494619542732752012-09-15T11:09:25.711-05:002012-09-15T11:09:25.711-05:00The colors and fragrance of Autumn stir my senses ...The colors and fragrance of Autumn stir my senses like no other season.

The warm orange, gold and browns are my favorite palette, and the scent of burning leaves; wood stoves and fireplaces; cinnamon and cider...it goes on and on :o)

By far my FAVE time of year!Princess Daffyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07426809715635924562noreply@blogger.com
